The most recent update, One UI 5.1, was released with the Galaxy S23 series and is now available on many current Galaxy phones and tablets, including the S, Z, and A-ranges. If your device qualifies for the update, you should check out the new features and how they enhance your experience.
The following are six brand-new Galaxy One UI 5.1 features you should test out.
1. A Brand-New Battery Tool
A new battery widget in One UI 5.1 lets you see how much battery is left in your phone, wearables, and other connected devices. Although only available for the Home screen, it is similar to the iPhone’s Lock screen widget.
Tap Widgets > Battery and select the Battery status widget by long-pressing a space on your Home screen. The list of the circle’s views is your options. The widget displays four devices by default but can be resized to accommodate up to eight.
2. Improvements to modes and routines
The One UI 5.1 update made Modes and Routines, one of Samsung phones’ best features, even better. This time, there are two significant enhancements.
To begin with, another Theater Mode preset makes a difference “limit interruptions from notices and light from your screen” so you don’t incidentally upset individuals around you an ideal expansion for film participants!
Second, there are new routine actions like changing your wallpaper and enabling Quick Share to send files. These actions can be found in the Wallpaper and Connected devices menus.
3. Utilize the Quick Settings Panel to take screenshots
There are a few different ways to take a screenshot on Samsung, and One UI 5.1 adds yet another. A screenshot can now be taken right from the Quick Settings panel.
Add the Take screenshot button to the Quick Settings panel to accomplish this. Simply tap the button once more, and your phone will take care of the rest. You can also change the settings for the screenshot by long pressing the button.
4. Enhancements to the Gallery App
A few new features have been added to the Samsung Gallery app in One UI 5.1. Image Clipper, which enables you to lift a subject from a photo background, copy the cutout to your clipboard, and paste it somewhere else similar to the iPhone is perhaps the most important. Sadly, it only exists on flagships.
Object Eraser, a photo remastering tool that enhances your photos, and Face Effects, which allows you to edit your selfies’ color tone, jawline, and eyes, among other things, have also been improved by Samsung.
5. Call Text Bixby
The Bixby Text Call feature on Samsung phones, like the Call Screen feature on Google Pixel phones, allows the assistant to take the call on your behalf and inquire as to why the caller is calling. Bixby reads your responses aloud while you receive a real-time transcript of the caller’s words.
One UI 5 introduced Bixby Text Call, but it was only available in Korean; English is now supported by One UI 5.1 as well. The feature is primarily intended to deal with spam calls, but you can also use it when you can’t answer the phone, like in a meeting.
The feature can be found in the Phone app’s call settings menu.
6. Integration of Expert RAW in the Camera App
Expert RAW is a camera feature on Samsung flagship phones that gives professional photographers and aspiring photographers full control over the camera hardware.
With One UI 5.1, it is now integrated directly into the main camera app, making it more likely that more people will try it out. Previously, it was a separate app. The Camera app’s More menu contains it.
One UI 5.1 incorporates the requested features
Even though One UI 5.1 is a fairly minor update, it is still a good one because it adds features that Samsung users specifically requested and improves stability and animations. Although some of these features are indeed copied from the iPhone, that is not a complaint.
