Despite having a 200MP primary rear camera, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra takes 12.5MP pixel-binned photos right out of the box. However, there are times when you will want to take a picture with 200 megapixels to get the most details. And did you know that the S23 Ultra’s rear camera can also take pictures with 50 megapixels? Learn how to use your Galaxy S23 Ultra to take pictures with 50MP or 200MP by following this tutorial.

Should You Shoot 50MP or 200MP Photos From Your Galaxy S23 Ultra?

  • Of course, the Cosmic system S23 Ultra catches 12.5MP pixel-binned photographs. Utilizing pixel binning, the essential sensor can consolidate subtleties from contiguous pixels to imitate a bigger pixel to determine more subtleties and clearness.
  • On the World S23 Ultra, Samsung utilizes 16-to-1 binning, where 16 pixels are converged into one super pixel to yield 12.5MP photographs. However, Samsung’s most recent flagship camera’s ISOCELL HP2 sensor can also capture images at 200MP and 50MP with 4-in-1 binning.

However, you should focus primarily on taking pictures at 12.5 megapixels. This is because a camera is more than just its pixels and resolution. The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s sensor can use all of its computational photography and pixel-binning capabilities to produce photos with greater detail and color vibrancy at the default resolution of 12.5 MP. These advantages are beneficial when shooting in low light or challenging scenes.

You don’t get the same advantages in image processing with 50MP and, to a large extent, 200MP. As a result, images taken at these resolutions may contain a lot of noise and have a limited dynamic range.

Another issue is that the catching and handling time is much higher with 50MP and 200MP pictures. You will need to wait a few seconds before you can open the image in either resolution. Additionally, due to the lengthy processing time, these high-resolution modes make it impossible to snap consecutive shots.

In some circumstances, however, using the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 50MP or 200MP mode to take pictures is advantageous. For instance, if you are taking a picture to print in poster size and are aware that you will need to crop or zoom in on it later. These pictures will have a lot more detail because of their high resolution, but you have to take them when there is a lot of light.

How to Use the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to Take Pictures with a 50MP or 200MP Camera

  1. Open the Camera app on your Galaxy S23 Ultra.
  2. Tap the 3:4 aspect ratio icon on the toolbar at the top.
  3. Select 3:4 50MP or 200MP resolution depending on your preference.

Your Galaxy S23 Ultra will shoot photos with 50MP if you select that option. In a similar vein, the phone will take pictures with a resolution of 200MP if you select it. Please keep in mind that these photos take significantly longer to process than your typical pixel-binned 12.5MP images.

The sizes of 50MP and 200MP photos are also significantly more extensive than those of standard 12.5MP photos.

When using Expert RAW and Pro mode, you can take 50MP photos. You can adjust things like the white balance, ISO, shutter speed, and more with these modes.

Consider reading our guide on how to use the Samsung Camera app to learn how to use the various modes on the S23 Ultra if this is your first Samsung phone.

Enjoy the Camera Performance of Your Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung has made significant enhancements to the camera system of the Galaxy S23 Ultra to provide superior imaging performance. The new 200MP sensor allows the telephone to catch photographs with extraordinary subtleties, even in low-light circumstances.

Therefore, you are certain to be impressed by the images that the phone captures, regardless of whether you are taking high-resolution 50/200MP or pixel-binned photos.
