Galaxy S21 series and Note 20 January 2024 security update

After releasing so many technologies products at CES 2024, Samsung is now releasing the January 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Note 20 phones.

The latest update brings system security and stability to provide an enhanced experience. As per the update information, the January 2024 update is live for the Galaxy S21 series users in Canada.

The latest update fixes for over 75 security flaws including 1 critical, 68 high, and 6 moderate levels of CVEs. It also includes 5 Samsung-specific patches that improve the security and performance of the camera, the secure folder, the biometrics, the Wi-Fi, and the Bluetooth.

The installation package size of this update is around 300 MB.

Galaxy Note 20 January 2024 update

Now, the company has started pushing the January 2024 security update for unlocked models of Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The update installs the latest Android security patch to improve system security.

January 2024 security update for unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra models in the US can be identified through the firmware versions N981U1UES6HWL5 and N986U1UES6HWL5 respectively.

The fresh update mainly focuses on enhancing the system security of the device by including the latest Android security measures. Additionally, the update addresses various bugs and stability optimizations, which brings a better overall user experience.

Samsung Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21+ and S21 Ultra devices have a similar design. All the flagship phones feature an Infinity-O Display design. The Ultra version has a curved display and four cameras at the back. The other two phones have a flat panel and a triple camera setup. The devices feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and are IP68 rated. Samsung is only offering the S Pen with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The standard version offers a 6.2-inch display with FHD+ resolution, and 20:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy S21+ has a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen. Both the devices come with a 120Hz refresh rate display. The S21 Ultra version ships with a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display with HDR10+ support and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate

The Samsung Galaxy S21 and its Plus version come with a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 64MP primary telephoto camera. In photo mode, the device supports 3X lossless zoom (with autofocus and OIS) and up to 30x zoom. The flagship phones can shoot 8K videos at 24fps. There is also a 12MP secondary wide-angle camera sensor, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, there is a 10-megapixel camera. The most premium version has a quad rear camera setup, including a 108MP sensor with OIS support, a 12MP Dual Pixel sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a 10MP sensor with an f/4.9 telephoto lens and OIS support. The former telephoto lens has 3x optical zoom, while the latter one supports 10x optical zoom. The company has also added a laser autofocus sensor. The device also supports 100X Space Zoom. On the front is a 40MP camera.
